Weekly Learning Update

By the end of the week, your child should be able to:

• Math

• identify how many ones and tens there are in a given number, and draw the number using tens blocks.  For example: 21 has 2 tens and 1 one!
• expand a two digit number into a math equation. For example: 20+1=21
•  Social Studies 
• Explain who Terry Fox was and why what he did is important.
• Explain what Orange Shirt day is and why it is important.
• Literacy
• identify a sentence versus a non-sentence.  For example: There is a stick under the door. versus stick under the door

• Action Patterns!
• Ask your child to show you the action pattern he/she did last week.  If they don't remember, encourage him/her to make a new one!
